Ash Barty hits the streets as an Amazon Flex delivery partner in new social campaign via Herd MSL

Amazon Flex has launched a new campaign featuring Grand Slam champion Ash Barty in a social film, created by Herd MSL, that shines a spotlight on the everyday delivery partners who keep Amazon orders moving throughout the year. The campaign follows Barty as she spends a day on the road as an Amazon Flex delivery partner, surprising Brisbane customers and celebrating the people who help make fast holiday deliveries possible.

Christmas came early for customers in Brisbane when they opened their doors to find the beloved tennis icon delivering their Amazon packages, proving she’s as adept at delivering parcels as she is at delivering aces.

Says Barty: “With a young family keeping me on my toes, I’m often relying on at-home deliveries, especially over the holidays. Getting behind the wheel as an Amazon Flex delivery partner has given me a whole new appreciation for these drivers who help make every day and the holidays special for so many Australian families like mine. Surprising Amazon customers was great fun and hopefully brought joy to a few people’s days.”

Brisbane-based Amazon Flex delivery partner, Graham Henry, who showed Ash the ropes, says: “I started delivering with Amazon Flex because the flexibility allows me to get extra earnings around my family commitments – I can pick up delivery blocks when it suits me and know exactly what I’ll earn upfront. Joining Ash on her deliveries and getting to see her experience firsthand how fulfilling it can be, was incredible. She brought the same focus and enthusiasm to delivering packages as she did to tennis!”

Says Amazon Country Manager, Janet Menzies: “This year, most Prime members will be able to place orders from hundreds of thousands of eligible items as late as 22 December and have them delivered in time for the big day. That’s in a big way thanks to the Amazon Flex delivery partners who do amazing work throughout the year, especially over the busy festive season.

“We’re constantly looking for ways to show our appreciation for delivery partners, this festive season we are offering refreshment vouchers, surprise and delight giveaways and special holiday promotions. We are thrilled to have had Ash lend a hand and shine a light on the joy delivery partners spread everyday.”

Amazon Australia expects Prime members in Sydney, Wollongong, Newcastle, Gosford, Melbourne, Bendigo, Ballarat, Geelong, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Toowoomba, Perth, Adelaide and Canberra to be able to shop from a huge range of eligible items up to 22 December to receive them in time for Christmas, with free delivery.

Customers without Prime membership will be able to order select items as late as the 20 December to have them arrive in time for the big day, or select a paid delivery option for faster delivery where available. Estimated cut off dates vary depending on the item, shipping location and Amazon Australia’s network capacity, with expected delivery dates shown at Checkout.

Amazon Flex enables everyday Australians to deliver Amazon packages in their own vehicles when it suits them. Amazon Flex delivery partners can schedule delivery blocks up to a week in advance, knowing the amount they will earn for that block up front, and are paid weekly. Opportunities across the country vary based on region and vehicle type.
